The TourDeTestimony Bike Trek is a Dayton Ohio East Stake sponsored High Adventure for 2024 and will begin Tuesday, June 25 in Cleveland Ohio and conclude Saturday, June 29 at the Rotary Park in Beavercreek.
Participants will lodge at Cleveland State University the evening of June 25, camp along the trail at the Dalton High School on June 26, Kokosing Valley Camp & Canoe on June 27, then spend their last night, June 28, at Ohio State University. Saturday morning they will depart for Beavercreek Rotary Park to be greeted by family and friends.
The Stake realizes that not all youth may desire to ride or are able to complete the entire ride, but all are welcome to participate as they feel able. Besides being a rider, we will need assistance with SAG (Support & Gear), cooking, support stations along the route, communications, photo and video documentation, camp setup, bike transportation, bike maintenance, and other needed duties. Any youth who are unable to bike are enthusiastically welcomed to contribute through these essential needs. We would love to see this event be youth supported!
Detailed information will be posted as we proceed forward, so refer back to this site throughout the coming year.
For those desiring to bike, training will be required, but there will be plenty of opportunity to accomplish this before June 2024. Training is essential to help riders become familiar with trail etiquette, riding in a group, and developing muscle and stamina for long rides. Note, speed is not a requirement, nor is having a fancy bike, but having a determinization to accomplish a challenging event is. As with anything in life, training will help you be successful, and in this case, enjoy an experience few will ever have the opportunity to encounter. Realize, training can be FUN, especially with friends and a common goal.
Allow yourself to be a beginner. No one starts off being excellent.
